At least four Palestinians, among them a child, were killed in Israeli attacks across central and southern Gaza on Thursday, according to medical sources, as Israeli forces continued near-daily strikes on the enclave.
Officials at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah said Abdul Rahim Walid Matar, 27, died at dawn when an Israeli drone launched two missiles at a tent housing displaced people west of az-Zawayda.
In Khan Younis, a woman was killed and two others were wounded by Israeli fire outside areas under Israeli military control, Nasser Medical Complex reported. Separately, a source at al-Awda Hospital said a child was shot dead by Israeli forces in the Bureij refugee camp.
Al Jazeera correspondent Ashraf Amra, reporting from Deir el-Balah, said Israeli troops fired directly at homes and tents in eastern Bureij, killing the child instantly. "Israeli forces on the edges of the area that directly overlooks al-Mawasi are firing heavily towards the tents of displaced people," Amra said, adding that a man struck while sitting inside his tent was critically wounded and rushed into surgery at Nasser hospital.
Medical sources told Al Jazeera that another drone strike at Az-zawaya killed a fourth person. A separate drone attack on a gathering of residents in Deir el-Balah's al-Baraka area wounded several people, one of them critically.
In northern Gaza, a source at al-Shifa Hospital said a Palestinian was injured when a drone hit an apartment in al-Karama, northwest of Gaza City. Israeli artillery also pounded eastern Gaza City, while naval vessels opened fire toward the coastline.
Local sources reported heavy fire from Israeli military vehicles around the Hosni al-Musaddar Mosque east of Maghazi camp, where a drone also dropped a bomb, though no casualties were recorded there. East of Khan Younis, residents described two powerful explosions as the army demolished homes and civilian facilities inside territory it controls. Amra said Israeli forces were advancing on the eastern edges of al-Musaddar and Deir el-Balah, bulldozing homes and farmland and taking more land behind the so-called "Yellow Line".
The latest killings came a day after Gaza's Health Ministry announced that three Palestinians had been killed and 21 wounded in the previous 24 hours, with one of the dead succumbing to earlier injuries. The ministry says 1,602 Palestinians have been killed and 5,794 wounded since the ceasefire came into force on October 11, 2025, bringing the overall toll since October 2023 to 74,618 killed and 175,920 wounded.
On Monday, Gaza's Government Media Office said Israel had committed 5,989 ceasefire violations since the truce began, including 753 in October alone. Those October incidents included 346 shootings, 310 bombardments and 64 home demolitions, the office said.
