The Jacksonville Jaguars will kick off Week 9 of the 2026 NFL season on Thursday night when they travel to Maryland to face the Baltimore Ravens, with the two teams arriving in very different circumstances.

Jacksonville returned from its bye week with a 42 to 7 rout of the Indianapolis Colts, while Baltimore is coming off a 36 to 10 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. The bigger problem for the Ravens is under center, where Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley have both been lost to long-term injuries. Joe Fagnano will get the start on Thursday, and the central question is whether he can get the Ravens offense moving well enough to keep pace with the Jaguars on a short week.

Prediction market prices from Kalshi show how traders are sizing up the first touchdown scorer market for the game. Jaguars running backs Bhayshul Tuten and Chris Rodriguez Jr. lead the board at $0.16 each, followed by Ravens running back Derrick Henry at $0.13 and Jacksonville receiver Parker Washington at $0.12. Tight end Brenton Strange sits at $0.09, with receiver Jakobi Meyers at $0.07, quarterback Trevor Lawrence at $0.06 and Ravens wideout Zay Flowers at $0.05.

Meyers stands out as a sneaky pick on the Jacksonville side despite sitting near the bottom of the price table. There is an expectation that the Jaguars will run away with the game and score the first touchdown in the process, and while Tuten and Rodriguez are the natural choices as running backs, Meyers is the player Lawrence looks for on key third downs. He has a knack for getting open on short and intermediate routes, and if Jacksonville puts together a methodical drive down the field, he becomes one to watch in the red zone even though he is not going to create an explosive play.

For Baltimore, Henry is the pick at $0.13. It is hard to back any Ravens player to find the end zone given how the offense is likely to operate with Fagnano at quarterback, but Henry is a force of nature who can score from anywhere on the field no matter who is under center. The matchup is a stiff test because Jacksonville has contained the run extremely well, so a career-best performance should not be expected, though there is a chance he rips off a big run early for a score. He remains the most likely Raven to score first.
