The Indianapolis Colts are drawing trade inquiries about Jonathan Taylor, but the team is not actively seeking offers for its star running back ahead of the NFL's Nov. 10 deadline. His future has become a focus after Indianapolis traded two prominent players during the past week.

CBS Sports reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala said Sunday, Nov. 1, that the Colts had received calls about Taylor following the departures of DeForest Buckner and Quenton Nelson. Both were team captains and central figures in the organization. Despite those inquiries, Kinkhabwala reported that Indianapolis had assured her it was neither soliciting proposals for Taylor nor actively pursuing his departure.

That position does not guarantee Taylor will remain with the Colts. According to Kinkhabwala, he met with owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon during the week to discuss his future in Indianapolis. Irsay-Gordon offered no assurance that he would stay with the team, while Taylor reiterated his affection for the organization during their conversation.

The uncertainty follows two deals that have prompted speculation that Indianapolis is beginning a broader teardown. The Colts sent Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a third-round selection in the 2027 draft and a fifth-round selection in 2028. They also traded Buckner to San Francisco for a 2027 fourth-round pick.

A potential Taylor deal would likely require a greater return than either of those trades, given his standing among the NFL's leading running backs. Kinkhabwala's report suggests the Colts would need an especially compelling offer before agreeing to move him. For now, their reported approach leaves open the possibility of a deal without indicating that one is being sought.

Taylor, 27, joined Indianapolis as a second-round draft selection out of Wisconsin in 2020 and has spent his first seven NFL seasons with the club. Last season, he finished with an NFL-best 18 rushing touchdowns and reached 1,000 rushing yards for the fourth time in his career.

His production has continued this season. Entering Week 8, Taylor had accumulated 587 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns, with the touchdown total leading the league.

A report on Saturday identified the Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants and Seahawks among the teams interested in Taylor. Seattle has already completed the Nelson deal with Indianapolis, while Taylor's status remains unresolved as the deadline approaches.
