Nike has released the Jordan Spiz'ike Low "Jam Central" sneakers, a new colorway that marks two milestones at once: the 20th anniversary of the first Jordan Spiz'ike and the 30th anniversary of the film "Space Jam." The shoes became available on Thursday, Nov. 5, priced at $165 on Nike.com.

The Spiz'ike line itself grows out of a decades-long relationship between Nike and filmmaker Spike Lee. Since the mid-1980s, Lee has directed commercials for Nike and Michael Jordan's Air Jordan sneakers, and Mars Blackmon, his character from "She's Gotta Have It," appeared in many of those ads for the sports apparel company.

Since the mid-2000s, Jordan Brand has returned the tribute by giving Lee his own sneaker. The Jordan Spiz'ike combines design elements drawn from the Air Jordan III, IV, V, VI, IX and XX, and over the years it has appeared in a wide range of colorways and limited edition releases.

The new "Jam Central" edition is built from premium materials, including an upper that mixes authentic and synthetic leather for what Nike describes as a fresh look and clean feel with retro appeal. Lee's personal stamp is on the shoe in the form of the logo for his production company, 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks, placed on the heel.

The "Space Jam" connection shows up in the details, most notably Bugs Bunny depicted in the Air Jordan "Jumpman" pose. The colorway combines black with green strike, racer blue and atomic orange, a palette pitched for casual everyday wear.

The sneakers are offered in unisex adult sizing at the $165 price point, and younger fans are covered as well. Big kid, little kid and baby and toddler sizes are also available, with prices starting at $60.

Shoppers who belong to Nike's free membership program get free shipping on orders of $50 or more, while non-members need to spend more than $75 to qualify. Membership sign-up is free with an email address and includes perks such as early access to new releases, special discounts, expert sports and style advice, exclusive experiences and returns without a receipt.

The "Jam Central" release arrives as part of the broader Space Jam x Nike collection, which is also available through the company's website.
