Shoppers looking for a new gaming laptop have a notable discount to consider. As of October 21, 2026, Best Buy is selling the Lenovo Legion 5i 16-inch Gaming Laptop for $1799.99, which is $850 below the $2649.99 list price shown on its store page. That works out to a 32% saving on a machine that would otherwise put a serious dent in most budgets.
The laptop is built around a 16-inch IPS display with a 3K resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. The panel runs at a 240Hz refresh rate and reaches 500 nits of brightness, a combination aimed at players who want both sharp detail and smooth motion. It sits inside a well-constructed Lenovo Legion chassis.
Performance comes from an Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX processor paired with Nvidia's mobile RTX 5070 graphics card, which carries 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM. The configuration is rounded out by 16GB of memory and a 1TB SSD for storage, covering the main hardware specifications of the model on offer.
Connectivity is broad. For video output, the Legion 5i offers USB-C with DisplayPort 1.2 as well as HDMI 2.1. Other ports include Thunderbolt 4 and three USB-A connections. Wireless networking is handled by Wi-Fi 7, and the keyboard has RGB backlighting that helps when gaming in darker rooms.
Battery life is the main caveat. The laptop is rated for roughly 4.7 hours of use, but that figure comes with the usual warning for gaming notebooks. Machines with powerful graphics hardware can drain their batteries very quickly under load, so players hoping to get the full gaming potential out of the Legion 5i will need to keep it plugged into mains power.
For buyers weighing the offer, the appeal is the pairing of a high-resolution, high-refresh display with current-generation graphics at a price well under the listed figure. The deal is tied to the Best Buy listing, so anyone interested should check the store page for the current price before buying.
