Jen Affleck, a cast member of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” filed for divorce from Zac Affleck on Tuesday after seven years of marriage, according to court documents obtained by People. TMZ first reported the news of the split.

The couple met in 2018, then became engaged and married in 2019. They have three children, Nora, Luca and Penelope, and are expecting a fourth. Their separation follows marital difficulties that have been documented during Jen’s time on the Hulu reality series.

The filing comes shortly before the Nov. 12 premiere of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County,” a spin-off in which Jen stars. She and Zac moved from Utah to Orange County in recent years. The new series will bring Jen back to the screen following her prominent role in the original show.

Jen has appeared in all five seasons of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” which debuted on Hulu in 2024. Her fellow cast members have included Taylor Frankie Paul, Whitney Leavitt, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews and Jessi Draper. Paul, Matthews and Leavitt have since departed the series.

Throughout the original show, viewers have watched financial and emotional tensions emerge between Jen and Zac. Their relationship difficulties have been part of the on-screen story, and Jen has also spoken openly during the series about Zac’s problems with gambling.

One dispute shown in the first season occurred during a cast trip to Las Vegas. Jen considered going to a Chippendales performance with her #MomTok co-stars, prompting an argument with Zac. During that confrontation, he threatened to divorce her. The episode was among the marital conflicts documented by the show.

In August, Jen discussed difficulties away from the cameras in an interview with People while pregnant with their fourth child. She said “there’s a lot that we’ve been navigating behind closed doors,” describing the preceding months as challenging.

“It’s been a lot the past couple of months, I’ll be honest,” Jen told the publication at the time. She also expressed optimism despite those difficulties, saying, “But I do feel like I’m seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and just trying to count my blessings every single day.”
