The Philadelphia Flyers ended a three-game losing streak on Sunday with a decisive 6-3 victory over the Utah Mammoth at Xfinity Mobile Arena. The win marked the Flyers' first time scoring more than four goals in a single game this season, offering a bright start to November after a difficult October in which the team lost 12 of their 15 contests.

Veteran wingers Travis Konecny and Owen Tippett returned to the lineup, providing a significant boost to the squad. Konecny, who had missed the previous 10 games due to a lower-body injury, recorded his first goal of the season. Tippett, sidelined for the last six games with an upper-body injury, also contributed to the offensive effort.

Matvei Michkov gave the Flyers an early lead just under 13 minutes into the first period. The goal resulted from a broken play following a forced error by Utah defenseman Nate Schmidt. After a series of passes involving Noah Cates and Porter Martone, the puck deflected off a Utah stick and hit Michkov in the torso before he buried it past the net. This was Michkov's 10th goal of the season, tying him for sixth in the NHL.

Utah quickly responded as Dmitri Simashev tied the game 95 seconds later. The goal came on a chaotic play where a dump-in by Vincent Trocheck spiked off the ice and bounced away from Flyers defenseman Cam York. Simashev capitalized on the loose puck to knock it into the net.

The Flyers regained the lead in the second period when the line of Denver Barkey, Tyson Foerster, and Tippett controlled the puck deep in the Utah zone. This allowed a five-man change, bringing on Trevor Zegras, Christian Dvorak, and Konecny. After a sequence of passes, Konecny attempted a centering pass that deflected off Artem Duda's stick and into the goal, making the score 2-1.

Noah Cates extended the lead to 3-1 before the first intermission of the middle frame. His goal came from the top of the left circle, though it may have deflected off Simashev's stick. During this period, a minor incident occurred when Konecny checked Duda into the head and neck of Trevor Zegras, who went down the tunnel briefly but returned to the ice.

The Flyers added two more goals in the third period. First, Konecny assisted Dvorak for his third goal of the season after a quick pass from the forecheck. Later, Oliver Bonk scored his first goal of the season with a slap shot from the right point, assisted by Cam York.

Utah attempted a late comeback, with Mikhail Sergachev scoring on the power play and Logan Cooley cutting the deficit to two with under three minutes remaining. Tensions rose as the game neared the end, reminiscent of a previous overtime loss in Utah. However, Cole Knuble sealed the victory with his first career empty-netter with 94 seconds left on the clock.

The performance was a team effort, with five players recording multi-point games. This was the first time the Flyers have had five players with multiple points in a game since December 30, 2025. Konecny recorded his 128th multi-point game, moving him to 14th on the Flyers' all-time list.

The Flyers will host the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday at 7 p.m. for their next matchup. The game marks the first time Bobby Brink will play in Xfinity Mobile Arena since being traded to the Wild in March.
