Two NFL clubs will show off a fresh look this Sunday. The Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars are both scheduled to wear their new 'Rivalries' uniforms for the first time in Week 8, and each team plays at home with a 1 p.m. ET kickoff.

Detroit hosts the Minnesota Vikings in an NFC North matchup, while Jacksonville welcomes the Indianapolis Colts. Although the uniforms were revealed earlier, neither team has had the chance to play in them until now.

The designs come from the NFL's 'Rivalries' program, which asks each team to build a look around a theme tied to its own community. The Lions worked with Nike on a 'Defend the Den' design that pairs a white jersey and white pants with a Honolulu blue helmet. According to the team, carbon fiber in the helmet's decal texture 'symbolizes elite performance and connects to Detroit's car and racing culture.'

The Jaguars took a tribute to Jacksonville and Duval County as their starting point. Their helmet carries the word 'Duval' on the back bumper and the city's '904' area code on the front. Most noticeably, the helmet is teal, a first for the franchise. The rest of the outfit is simpler: a white jersey with black pants.

The team also said the number font was 'heavily inspired by the historic music venues and southern rock influence that Jacksonville is known for.'

Detroit and Jacksonville are not the first to use the program this season. All four teams in the AFC South and NFC North have revealed uniforms, but only the Colts and Packers have worn theirs so far. Indianapolis wore its look in a Week 3 win over the Texans, and Green Bay debuted its version in a 31-7 victory over the Bears in Week 5. That leaves teams 2-0 this year in 'Rivalries' uniforms.

Only the home team wears the special uniform in each designated game. The remaining slate includes Jaguars at Titans on Nov. 15, Colts at Texans on Nov. 19, Lions at Vikings on Dec. 20 and Packers at Bears on Dec. 25. Each team will wear its new uniform just once this season, though it can keep the look in its rotation for the next three years.

The program began in 2025 with the AFC East and NFC West. The AFC West and NFC East follow in 2027, and the AFC North and NFC South in 2028, at which point all 32 teams will have unveiled a 'Rivalries' design. So far, the teams appear to have fully embraced the concept.
