Jay-Z has been confirmed as the performer for the Super Bowl halftime show on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium. He and his company, Roc Nation, have partnered with the NFL on the event since 2019, and the rapper plays a central role in deciding who takes the stage. This time, he selected himself.
The identity of the performer is now settled, but the teams playing in the game are not. That will not be known until the final day of January.
Another open question is whether Jay-Z will bring out any special guests. Many halftime headliners invite additional artists, and although he has announced no one so far, there is a strong chance he will. Based on past collaborations and NFL history, four names stand out.
The first is Beyonce, who has been married to Jay-Z since 2018 and shares three children with him. Their joint work includes "'03 Bonnie and Clyde," their first collaboration, which came before they were dating. Their best-known song together may be "Crazy in Love," released in 2003. They have also released "Drunk in Love," "Part II (On the Run)," "Deja Vu" and "Lift Off," and they have toured together. Beyonce performed at the 2016 halftime show alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars, and sang the national anthem at Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2001 in her hometown of Houston. On Christmas Day 2024, she performed during a halftime show in Houston often called the "Beyoncé Bowl."
Rihanna is another candidate. In 2005, when Jay-Z was CEO of Def Jam Records, he had her audition for him and others, a moment that launched her career. She moved from Def Jam to Roc Nation in 2010. Their shared songs include "Umbrella," "Run This Town" and "FourFiveSeconds." Earlier this year, she surprised fans by joining him on stage at Yankee Stadium during his tour. She also headlined the Super Bowl in 2023, a show remembered for her announcement of a pregnancy.
A third possibility is Blu Ivy Carter, the oldest child of Jay-Z and Beyonce. She danced in her mother's 2024 Christmas Day halftime show in Houston and again on the Cowboy Carter tour. Despite her age, she has built a large following, with concertgoers holding signs and shouting her name at shows. She is also frequently seen at NFL games with her father, so the halftime show could become a family affair.
The fourth name is Eminem, who appeared with Jay-Z on stage during his current tour. The two worked together on "Renegade," a track from Jay-Z's album The Blueprint. Eminem also has Super Bowl experience, having been a special guest on a hip-hop lineup at the 2022 game.
For now, none of these appearances are confirmed. Fans will have to wait until the show itself to learn who, if anyone, joins Jay-Z at SoFi Stadium.
