Coastal Country Jam is returning to Huntington Beach on May 22 and 23, 2027, with Luke Bryan, Megan Moroney, Thomas Rhett and Parker McCollum leading the lineup. The country music festival, produced by Activated Events, will resume after a two-year hiatus and bring the event back to the city where it began.
The 2027 festival will occupy a different stretch of sand from its original location. Organizers plan to use the city beach south of the Huntington Beach Pier, across from Pacific City. It will be the festival’s first Huntington Beach edition since 2019, following events in Long Beach in 2023 and 2024.
Bryan will headline Saturday, with Rhett also on that day’s bill. Moroney will close the festival on Sunday, when McCollum is also scheduled to perform. Both Bryan and Moroney will be making their first appearances at a festival produced by Activated Events. Founder and CEO Steve Thacher said in a phone interview that the return, coupled with the Huntington Beach setting, had generated considerable excitement.
Saturday’s other announced performers are Josh Ross, Ashley Cooke, Myles Morgan and Joe Peters. Sunday will also feature Avery Anna, Corey Kent, John Morgan, Colin Lynch and Presley Tennant. Organizers expect more than 20 artists to appear on multiple stages over the weekend, including country musicians from Orange County. Thacher said another major artist would be revealed in early December.
The festival started in 2016 at Huntington State Beach near Brookhurst Street and Pacific Coast Highway. Four editions took place there through 2019 before the pandemic disrupted its run. For the move to the city beach, Thacher said organizers spent considerable time coordinating with Huntington Beach officials on the location, dates and nearby hotel accommodations. The availability of Bryan and Moroney on the same weekend helped settle the decision.
Activities beyond the stages will include barbecue demonstrations by Smoke Show pitmasters, mechanical bull riding, a cornhole tournament and the Belt Buckle Line Dancing Hall. Several themed bars are planned, among them Rosé Rodeo and On the Wagon, which will serve nonalcoholic mocktails.
Single-day and two-day passes will be offered. Registration for presale access is available at coastalcountryjam.com. The presale opens at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, followed by the general public sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13.
Thacher described the beach setting as the event’s central attraction alongside the music, pointing to the Pacific Ocean, Catalina Island and sunset views. “It’s pretty magical in and of itself,” he said.
