A long-standing Dallas pizza chain has officially shuttered one of its three local locations. Eno's Pizza Tavern announced on social media that its restaurant at Cypress Waters at The Sound in Coppell served its final guests on Sunday, November 1. The sudden decision to close the doors has left many regulars and fans of the establishment feeling blindsided.
The news generated a significant reaction online, with customers expressing shock on Facebook and Instagram. Many users noted that they had visited the restaurant just recently and were unaware of any impending closure. The surprise was compounded by the fact that the location had been active as recently as Halloween, when it hosted a costume contest and distributed pizza giveaways. Gift cards issued during that promotion remain valid at the chain's other two sites.
In a statement posted to social platforms, the company addressed its customers directly. The note thanked patrons for sharing birthdays, date nights, and game days at the Cypress Waters location. It described the restaurant as an honor to serve as a neighborhood spot and confirmed that Eno's remains open at its Bishop Arts and Forney locations. The message also clarified that gift cards and loyalty points earned at the closed site can be redeemed at any remaining Eno's establishment.
Eno's first opened its original restaurant in the Bishop Arts District of Dallas in 2008. The pizzeria quickly built a loyal following, known specifically for its thin-crust pizzas and a pioneering selection of craft beers. Menu highlights include the Pig Smiley, which features Benton's ham, Eno's sausage, honey, and pepperoni, as well as The Original, topped with tomatoes, garlic mushrooms, Genoa salami, and sport peppers.
The business was among the earliest tenants in Bishop Arts, a neighborhood that has since transformed into a bustling hub for dining, coffee, and retail. As the area grew over the next decade, Eno's expanded its footprint. In 2017, the chain opened a second location in downtown Forney. This Forney branch serves the same core pizzas, pastas, and sandwiches, supplemented by appetizers, salads, soups, desserts, and a daily lunch special.
The now-closed Cypress Waters location opened two years after the Forney branch, bringing the brand to The Sound, a lakeside entertainment and dining destination. This specific site featured a rooftop patio covering 1,800 square feet with views of the water. The Sound's official Instagram account responded to the closure news by thanking Eno's for being part of the community and stating that the storefront would be missed.
Beyond its menu, Eno's has maintained a history of partnerships with local organizations and independent businesses. The restaurant was an early supporter of the North Texas craft beer scene and established Brew Riot, a homebrew competition for the Dallas area. It has also collaborated with a local elementary school on the iBike Rosemont initiative to encourage student activity. Additionally, the company has maintained ties with the Bishop Arts District Merchants Association and VisitDallas.
With the closure of the Coppell location, Eno's continues to operate two remaining restaurants. The original location is situated at 407 N. Bishop Ave. in Dallas, while the second site is located at 215 S. Bois D'Arc St. in Forney. The company has been contacted for further comment on the reasons behind the shutdown and may provide more details in the future.
