The Green Bay Packers return to primetime this week when they host the Carolina Panthers on Thursday Night Football, and fans across the Milwaukee area will be able to watch the game on FOX6 without any extra cost.
FOX6 will simulcast Prime Video's Thursday Night Football broadcast for free in the Milwaukee market on Thursday night, Oct. 29. Viewers who receive the station over the air or through a cable or satellite provider will get the game, and it will also be available to FOX ONE subscribers watching from within FOX6's designated market area.
Kickoff is set for 7:15 p.m. CT. FOX6 News will get the evening started with a half-hour of special coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m., and an additional hour of special coverage is planned after the game ends.
Green Bay holds the historical edge in the series, going 11-7 against Carolina in regular season play, including a 5-3 mark at home. The two teams also faced off in the NFC Championship game, a contest the Packers won on their way to the Super Bowl XXXI title.
The current season picture adds intrigue to the matchup. The Packers sit at 4-3 after Sunday's loss to the Detroit Lions and find themselves in last place in the NFC North. The Panthers, meanwhile, are 3-3 but still sit atop the NFC South standings.
Carolina won the most recent meeting between the clubs, a 16-13 victory at Lambeau Field last November. That game stands as the only head-to-head matchup between Packers head coach Matt LaFleur and Panthers head coach Dave Canales. Green Bay has won three of the past four games against Carolina overall, and each of the past six meetings has been decided by single digits.
There are familiar faces on the visiting sideline. A handful of former Packers now suit up for the Panthers, including running back AJ Dillon and tackle Rasheed Walker. Carolina associate head coach Darrell Bevell has deep Wisconsin ties of his own: he played quarterback for the Badgers in the 1990s and later worked as a member of Green Bay's coaching staff.
Whether tuning in with an antenna, a cable or satellite subscription, or the FOX ONE app, Milwaukee-area fans have a free way to catch the Packers and Panthers on Thursday night.
