Arizona Cardinals pass rusher Josh Sweat is attracting trade interest around the NFL as the Nov. 10 deadline approaches, according to ESPN. The Dallas Cowboys are among the teams to monitor, with Arizona entering Week 8 at 2-5 and at the bottom of the NFC West.

The Cardinals have already dealt former first-round receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. to the Houston Texans. That move puts further attention on whether Arizona will exchange another veteran for future draft picks. Sweat, 29, joined the team in free agency in 2025 on a four-year contract worth $76.4 million. His deal runs through 2028, but Over The Cap lists no guaranteed salary beyond the 2026 season.

Questions about Sweat's future in Arizona predate the current trade discussions. He reportedly sought a trade after the Cardinals fired head coach Jonathan Gannon last offseason, a request the front office rejected. Gannon previously coached Sweat as Philadelphia's defensive coordinator. It remains unclear whether Arizona's position on moving the pass rusher has changed.

Sweat spent seven seasons with the Eagles after Philadelphia selected him out of Florida State in the fourth round of the 2018 draft. He earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2021 and contributed 2.5 sacks against Kansas City in the Eagles' Super Bowl LIX victory during his final season there. In his first Arizona campaign, he posted a career-best 12 sacks and 17 quarterback hits. Through seven games this season, he has two sacks, four quarterback hits and three tackles for loss.

Dallas recently acquired cornerback Joey Porter Jr. from Pittsburgh as Jerry Jones continued efforts to strengthen the defense. The Cowboys nevertheless entered Week 8 tied for the third-most yards allowed per game at 373.7 and the second-most rushing yards allowed at 145.7. They were also tied for the fourth-fewest sacks and ranked in the NFL's bottom 10 in pressures, providing a potential reason to pursue Sweat.

CBS Sports also identified Green Bay as a possible destination, citing Sweat's relationship with Gannon, now the Packers' defensive coordinator. Green Bay has Lukas Van Ness and expects Micah Parsons back soon. Its 7.2% sack rate places it just inside the league's top 10, while its 36.1% pressure rate sits around the middle.

Buffalo was another potential fit outlined by CBS Sports. The Bills entered Week 8 leading the AFC East at 5-1, with Josh Allen topping the NFL in total touchdowns at 17. Their defense, however, ranked 30th in points allowed per game at 28.5, alongside a pressure rate ranked 20th and a sack rate ranked 27th. Those figures give Buffalo a possible incentive to seek additional help on the edge.
