Nicole Taylor, a founding member of the country music group Taylor Red, has died at the age of 35. Her passing was confirmed on Monday by her sisters and bandmates, Nika Taylor and Natalie Taylor, who shared the news via social media.

The trio consists of identical triplets who originally hail from Mississippi. The siblings first began performing together in 2010 under the name Red Roots. Eight years later, they rebranded their act as Taylor Red and relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue their music career.

The group gained significant popularity in 2021 when their track “Country Money” went viral on social media platforms. However, the following year, Nicole Taylor received a diagnosis of stage 3 breast cancer, beginning a difficult period for the family and the band.

Natalie Taylor recounted the moment she learned of the diagnosis in a recent ten-minute video shared with her sister Nika. She described being in a public place when Nicole received a phone call from a nurse regarding biopsy results. Natalie recalled her sister simply saying, “You have cancer,” before breaking down in shock.

Nika Taylor also spoke to the challenges of managing the illness. She noted that the treatment process involved numerous MRIs, scans, appointments, and procedures, which created a highly stressful environment for those involved.

Over the next four years, Nicole’s condition worsened, eventually progressing to stage 4 breast cancer. Despite the severity of the disease, the sisters emphasized that their family member found comfort in her final days.

In a joint statement, Nika and Natalie Taylor expressed their grief while offering a note of gratitude. They wrote, “We are shocked and heartbroken to announce the passing of our sister. She’s at peace and no longer suffering, so we’re thankful for that.”

According to the band’s official website, Nicole Taylor died on September 28. Her family gathered for a private funeral service to honor her memory.

Natalie Taylor added that Nicole had shared with them shortly before her death that she had found peace. The family expressed deep appreciation for that final sense of tranquility.

The news of her death has left the music community reflecting on the impact of the Taylor Red sisters, who rose to fame through digital platforms and dedicated themselves to country music from their roots in Mississippi to their new home in Nashville.
