St. John Bosco remains No. 1 in the Press-Telegram's high school football rankings for Week 10, the final week of the regular season. The Braves (7-2) beat Servite 54-7, with senior running back Maliq Allen scoring four touchdowns.
Next up for Bosco is a Friday game against Mater Dei (7-2) at Santa Ana Stadium at 7 p.m. The two teams are playing for second place in the Trinity League, and the winner will also earn a better seed in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs. Bosco has lost four straight games to Mater Dei dating back to the 2023 season.
Long Beach Poly (5-4) stays at No. 2 after a 42-0 win over Millikan. Sophomore Trevor Scott threw four touchdown passes, and junior receiver Zion Anderson caught three of them. The result clinched at least a tie for the Moore League title, the program's first league championship since 2023. The Jackrabbits can take the outright title with a win Friday at Jordan (0-9).
Downey (6-3) is third after a 46-20 victory over Cerritos, highlighted by a 100-yard interception return for a touchdown from senior defensive back Damani Porras. The Vikings host La Serna (8-1) on Friday in what amounts to the Mid-Cities League championship game, with both teams undefeated in league play.
Paramount (8-1) moves up one spot to No. 4 following a 63-3 win over California. The Pirates can secure the outright Mid-Cities League title with a victory Friday at Norwalk (1-8). Norwalk fell 45-6 to Bellflower in its most recent game.
La Mirada (6-3) made the biggest jump of the week, climbing from No. 12 to No. 5 after beating Warren 42-31. Senior running back Josiah Fregoso ran for 287 yards and three touchdowns on 30 carries. The Matadores close out Gateway League play Friday against rival Mayfair (2-7) at Bellflower High. Warren (5-4) dropped from fourth to 10th, though sophomore running back George Diggs scored three rushing touchdowns in the loss.
St. Pius X-St. Matthias (3-6) rises to No. 6 after a 37-27 Angelus League win over St. Paul, with senior running back AJ Monroe scoring four touchdowns. A win Friday against first-place Cathedral (7-2) would earn the Warriors a share of the league title and a CIF-SS playoff spot. Los Alamitos (0-9) slides to No. 7 after a 58-7 loss to Mission Viejo and hosts Yorba Linda (1-8) on Friday.
Bellflower (6-3) climbs to No. 8 and hosts rival Gahr (6-2-1) on Thursday at 7 p.m. with a chance to finish second in the Mid-Cities League. Valley Christian (6-2-1) is ninth after a 55-50 win over Western Christian, in which senior quarterback Graham Lunzer produced 530 yards of offense and eight touchdowns, five passing and three rushing. The Bears face Heritage Christian (5-4) on Friday.
Rounding out the next group of teams are Millikan, Lakewood, Wilson, Compton (9-1), Gahr, Dominguez, Cerritos, Mayfair, Artesia (7-1) and Cabrillo, ranked 11th through 20th in that order.
