Falling temperatures, gusty winds and lingering rain showers will bring a chilly start to the weekend across Northeast Ohio on Friday, Nov. 6. Saturday will remain cool and breezy, with lake effect rain most persistent around Cleveland and the Snowbelt. The forecast calls for warmer conditions beginning Sunday and continuing into early next week.

Temperatures Friday evening are expected to drop into the low 40s and upper 30s as northwest winds gust to around 25 mph. Showers will linger, particularly in northern and northeastern locations within the Cleveland Metro and Snowbelt regions, as well as Lorain County. Those areas face a combination of rain, wind and falling temperatures heading into the night.

Winds are forecast to strengthen overnight, with gusts reaching around 35 mph and a few additional showers moving through. Most locations will settle into the lower 40s, though drier parts of the South and West regions could fall into the 30s by early Saturday. The forecast lists a Friday night temperature of 41 degrees.

Saturday will bring more lake effect rain showers, especially across the Cleveland Metro region, which covers Cuyahoga County, and the Snowbelt counties of Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula. Rain is not expected to occupy the entire day everywhere. Locations outside those areas should have longer stretches of dry weather, although temperatures will remain low throughout the region.

Highs Saturday are forecast to reach only the 40s, with a listed high of 49 degrees. The breeze will add to the chill even where showers hold off. Akron is part of the forecast’s Akron-Canton region, alongside communities in Summit, Stark and Portage counties. The regional outlook keeps Saturday cool for everyone, while placing the greatest emphasis on recurring rain closer to Lake Erie.

Conditions should improve Sunday as temperatures return to the 50s. The day is forecast to be drier but still gusty, with a high of 54 degrees. That would bring some relief from Saturday’s cold, unsettled conditions as the weekend draws to a close.

The warming trend is expected to continue Monday, when partly sunny skies accompany a forecast high of 58 degrees. Tuesday brings more sunshine and a forecast high of 60 degrees, extending the temperature recovery into the early part of the week.
