The Seattle Seahawks could welcome back two running backs when they host the Chicago Bears at Lumen Field on Monday night to close Week 8. Zach Charbonnet is set for his first appearance of the 2026 season, while rookie Jadarian Price's availability still depends on a roster move. Seattle enters the matchup at 4-3, with Chicago carrying a 5-2 record.

Charbonnet has been recovering from a torn ACL suffered in January during Seattle's NFC divisional round playoff victory over the San Francisco 49ers. He has no game status designation on the Seahawks' final injury report, signaling that he is available for the meeting with the Bears.

Price, a first-round draft pick, has spent the past four games on injured reserve because of a chest injury. Seattle has designated him to return, but must activate him by 4 p.m. Monday for him to play against Chicago. ESPN is among the outlets reporting that Price will take part, although coach Mike Macdonald stopped short of confirming the move.

Macdonald said the team would allow the transaction to provide the answer on Price's status. Speaking Saturday, he said Seattle had plans for both backs and that any roster move would come Monday, to his knowledge. He also said the team was still working through roster matters.

Seattle is not required to activate Price for this game. The Seahawks have two more weeks to decide on his status before he would have to go on season-ending injured reserve. If he remains unavailable against Chicago, Charbonnet would likely split rushing duties with Emanuel Wilson. Wilson leads Seattle with 403 rushing yards, three rushing touchdowns and 111 carries.

The running game figures prominently in the defending Super Bowl champions' matchup with a Chicago offense led by quarterback Caleb Williams. Sustaining possessions on the ground would help keep Williams off the field while also slowing the Bears' pass rush, an important consideration for Seattle quarterback Sam Darnold.

Darnold ranks last in the NFL in expected points added per dropback when pressured, at minus 0.63. Addressing that vulnerability helped drive Seattle's trade for Quenton Nelson. Nelson is preparing for his Seahawks debut and could have both Charbonnet and Price running behind him if Seattle completes the rookie's activation.
