The eighth WWE Crown Jewel premium live event takes place Saturday at The Venue in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, streaming on ESPN Unlimited at noon ET. The show has been staged primarily in Riyadh since its 2018 debut, with last year's edition in Perth, Western Australia, standing as the only exception.

WWE created the Crown Jewel championship in 2024, matching its WWE and World champions in both the men's and women's divisions. This year, Undisputed WWE champion Sami Zayn meets World Heavyweight champion Roman Reigns, while WWE Women's champion Chelsea Green challenges Women's World champion Liv Morgan, the 2024 winner.

Reigns has been untouchable in 2026, running his record to a perfect 7-0 with a victory over LA Knight at Money in the Bank last month. He has not lost since the Survivor Series: WarGames PLE on Nov. 29, 2025, and a win Saturday would be his fifth at Crown Jewel, breaking a tie with Seth Rollins for the most all time. Reigns won his first four matches at the event but has dropped his past two, most recently against Bronson Reed in 2025.

History favors Reigns against Zayn. He holds a 4-1 edge in televised meetings, beginning with a Fatal 4-Way win on the July 25, 2016, episode of Raw that also involved Chris Jericho and Sheamus. Zayn took the most recent encounter, teaming with Kevin Owens to defeat Reigns and Solo Sikoa at Night of Champions in 2023.

Zayn is just 1-4 in PLE matches this year, but that lone victory came in Riyadh, where he outlasted Cody Rhodes and Gunther in a triple threat at Night of Champions in June to claim his first WWE championship. He has not lost a televised singles match since CM Punk beat him for the Undisputed WWE title on July 6, and after reclaiming the belt from Punk on the Sept. 11 episode of SmackDown, he is 4-0 in televised one-on-one bouts.

In the women's match, Morgan can become the first two-time Crown Jewel champion, having won the inaugural title in 2024 by defeating Nia Jax. She and Green have never wrestled one-on-one, though they have crossed paths in tag team matches, including at WrestleMania 39 in 2023, and in two Fatal 4-Way bouts, most recently on the June 8 episode of Raw when Morgan beat Green, Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss. Green was 0-7 in PLE matches before capturing the interim WWE Women's Championship at SummerSlam and now seeks a second straight PLE win, while Morgan, 4-1 at PLEs in 2026, would set a personal best for victories in a calendar year with a win.

Saturday's Last Man Standing match extends the Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton saga. It will be Orton's 197th PLE match, the most in WWE history, and he has competed in multiple Last Man Standing matches, including four at PLEs, most recently against Edge at WrestleMania 36 in 2020. Rhodes has never been in one. After going 9-1 at PLEs from SummerSlam 2024 through Wrestlepalooza 2025, Rhodes is 1-6 since, with his only win in that stretch coming against Orton at WrestleMania 42 in April.

The rivalry spans nearly two decades. Orton won their first two encounters on back-to-back episodes of Raw on July 16 and July 23, 2007, before the pair joined forces in The Legacy in 2008. They have met three times in singles PLE matches, at Vengeance 2011, Night of Champions 2025 and WrestleMania 42, with Rhodes holding a 2-1 advantage.

The World Tag Team Championship is also at stake, with The Vision's Bron Breakker and Austin Theory defending against Penta and Je'Von Evans. The challengers beat the champions in a nontitle match on the Oct. 5 episode of Raw, and a victory would give Evans his first WWE championship, including NXT, along with his first main roster PLE win after an 0-4 start. Theory's most recent PLE victory came at WrestleMania XL in 2024, when he and current NXT champion Grayson Waller won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship; by Saturday, two years, seven months and one day will have passed since that night.
