President Donald Trump plans to conclude his midterm campaign push Monday with an appearance at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C., following weeks of travel through more than 20 states. Republicans are making their closing appeal to voters as they seek to keep control of Congress in Tuesday's elections.
Trump's address is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET, alongside nine tele-rallies planned throughout the day. The schedule follows Sunday appearances in Iowa and Kansas. Those stops were restored after initially being canceled in favor of tele-rallies intended to reach voters in nearly 20 states.
Since August, the president has held 30 in-person political appearances, including more than 27 rallies during October. Alex Bruesewitz, a senior adviser to Trump's 2024 presidential campaign, accompanied him on roughly 10 to 15 recent trips and described the work required to move a sitting president between campaign events.
Bruesewitz told Fox News Digital that the arrangements differ substantially from those of a traditional campaign. White House personnel, Republican operatives, campaign aides and advance teams coordinate the events, he said. The White House Office of Political Affairs, Office of Public Liaison and Republican National Committee are among the organizations involved.
White House spokesperson Olivia Wales told Fox News Digital that Trump's message links continued Republican control of Congress to safer streets, lower taxes, secure borders and energy dominance. Bruesewitz said the president uses flights to campaign destinations to handle official business and prepare his remarks, while the return journeys tend to be more relaxed.
The travel has also brought moments that illustrate the strain of the schedule. Bruesewitz recalled falling asleep aboard Air Force One at 4 a.m. during a tiring West Coast trip. A photograph of him sleeping reached a group chat of congressional spouses, prompting messages from lawmakers' wives who were surprised by his exhausted appearance.
Despite the hours, Bruesewitz said the atmosphere reminded him of Trump's 2024 campaign, with aides moving between events as the president kept a busy itinerary. On flights home, staff members have listened to music and watched football. Bruesewitz, a devoted Green Bay Packers fan, recently watched one of the team's games aboard the aircraft.
Celebrity guests have included boxers Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield and rapper Nicki Minaj. Bruesewitz recalled escorting Tyson to his seat at a New York event as attendees reacted excitedly. He also singled out a stop in Port Huron, Michigan, where Minaj appeared with Trump before a packed arena despite a competing Detroit Lions game. Many attendees were seeing the president in person for the first time, Bruesewitz said, describing enthusiasm for both appearances.
