Dallas surrendered a 14-point fourth-quarter advantage in a 33-30 overtime loss to Arizona on Sunday, while Baltimore suffered another injury setback for quarterback Lamar Jackson during NFL Week 8. Elsewhere, Tampa Bay won without a completed pass, and the Los Angeles Chargers remained winless after another game of offensive struggles.

Dak Prescott’s touchdown run gave the Cowboys a 24-10 lead with more than 14 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. According to ESPN, Dallas had been 69-0 since 2000 when leading at home by at least 14 points in the final quarter. Arizona, which had benched its starting quarterback for Gardner Minshew, scored 20 fourth-quarter points. The Cardinals could have won in regulation, but missed an extra point with six seconds remaining and the score tied at 30.

The defeat dropped Dallas to 3-5 and followed another late collapse in Week 3, when it lost despite leading with seven seconds left. Owner Jerry Jones expressed confidence in coach Brian Schottenheimer afterward, saying firing him was “not in my mind at this time.” Dallas averaged just 3.6 yards per play and 2.4 yards per rushing attempt against Arizona, which overcame two turnovers and converted eight of 18 third downs.

Jackson’s return from a three-game absence caused by a high ankle sprain lasted only one play in Baltimore’s 36-10 loss at Buffalo. He was struck on his throwing-hand thumb and did not return. Ravens coach Jesse Minter said Jackson would need surgery, had been placed on injured reserve and would miss at least four more games. Backup Tyler Huntley also departed with an injury, leaving Baltimore with its third-string quarterback. The Ravens fell to 4-4, while Buffalo reached 6-1 and extended its regular-season winning streak following byes to 12, the second-longest ever.

Pittsburgh beat Cleveland 27-6, ending a test for a Browns team that entered at 5-2 after Deshaun Watson led late winning drives in each victory. Watson passed for 324 yards but took eight sacks. Cleveland has now lost 23 straight games in Pittsburgh, helping the Steelers match the record for consecutive home wins against one opponent. Pittsburgh improved to 6-2 and next faces two road games.

Tampa Bay handled rain and standing water on its home field by rushing for a franchise-record 324 yards in a 16-0 victory over Atlanta. The Buccaneers went 0-for-3 passing, becoming the first team since 1974 to win without completing a pass. The game included five fumbles and four interceptions.

The Chargers dropped to 0-7 with a 24-9 loss to the Rams at their shared SoFi Stadium. According to ESPN, the Chargers have gone 27 consecutive possessions without a touchdown, the NFL’s longest such stretch since Miami in 2024. Chargers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel also called plays for that Dolphins offense. The Chargers have nine offensive touchdowns this season, three fewer than any other team.

Washington defeated Philadelphia 27-10 on Sunday night to improve to 2-4-1, keeping its NFC East prospects alive. NBC Sports projections gave the Commanders a 25% chance of winning the division. Philadelphia fell to 2-6, its worst start since 1999, and suffered its first six-game losing streak since 2012. Division leader New York, at 4-2-1, still has one game each against Dallas and Washington.
