At least four Palestinians died as a result of Israeli attacks across Gaza on Saturday, October 31, with several others wounded in strikes and gunfire. Medical sources cited by the Palestinian news agency Wafa also reported the deaths of two girls who had suffered burns in a fire at a tent sheltering displaced people.
Two of the reported deaths were in Gaza City, where Palestinians succumbed to injuries from earlier attacks. One Palestinian died on Saturday morning after being wounded in an Israeli attack on Tel al-Hawa, a neighbourhood in the southwest of the city. Later, in the evening, Wael Musallam died from injuries sustained in a recent Israeli drone strike near al-Wehda Tower in western Gaza City.
Elsewhere in Gaza City, an Israeli drone hit a home in the al-Shati refugee camp. The strike left several people wounded, including one whose injuries were serious. The reported casualties there came alongside the deaths from earlier attacks in other parts of the city.
In central Gaza, a morning drone strike killed a Palestinian near the electricity company northwest of Nuseirat refugee camp. Four other people were wounded by Israeli gunfire in al-Maghazi refugee camp, also in the central part of the territory.
A further fatal drone strike was reported in southern Gaza on Saturday evening. The attack, near the Taiba Towers to the west of Khan Younis, killed one Palestinian and injured several others. Some of those wounded in the strike were in critical condition.
The two girls who died following the tent fire were identified as Habiba Zannoun and Aysal Abu Shaiban. Both died early on Saturday from injuries sustained when the fire broke out on Friday evening. The tent was housing displaced people in al-Mawasi, an area west of Khan Younis.
Israeli artillery fire also struck several parts of Gaza on Saturday. Heavy shelling targeted eastern Gaza City and locations west of Beit Lahia. In central Gaza, artillery shelling continued in the eastern areas of Deir al-Balah.
Farther south, Israeli military vehicles fired heavily northeast of Khan Younis. The vehicles also directed fire toward tents sheltering displaced people in al-Mawasi, where the two girls had died earlier that day following the previous evening's fire.
